Yeah, I am aiming for Miami in about mid march. For family reasons, I want a permanent place in Dallas. I am targeting mid november for that. With the big mortgage companies filing bankruptcy It is opening up some big foreclosures around here. I need some hard facts and good ideas to work with as I try to get a house for half as much as it's worth.

Glad you like the photo!

And you hit it right on the mark, this post is all about helping folks get motivated and not necessarily about the details of my own experience -- as most opportunities are not exactly the same scenarios.

Additionally, the post is about helping others realize that Tim and many others, like myself, are actually practicing what we preach -- it isn't all pie-in-the-sky.

Your set of questions are great and I'd like to do a Part 2 post, sometime soon, to get into some details on methods you can use to accomplish this yourself. This is why I linked over to Michael Davis' guide, which sheds some light on how there may be several steps or tips to be used.

The big answer is "YES" -- you can definitely do the same and accomplish it in ANY market, ANYWHERE in the world and I hope to show you some ways to do it. I know you mentioned Miami on your blog, right?

Nice article, good for dream building motivation. I like the photo. The big question is: how? How did you find the place? How did you get the mortgage down by 50%.? How can I implement what you did? Is it a learnable skill set? Does it only work in certain markets? I have a friend in custom home building and in the Dallas area and the word here is build new, don't flip. We have a ton of land and it's cheap. A custom home is cheaper than a pre owned one.
